These two young girls were out picking flowers and riding a bicycle around the railroad tracks in Alcolu,
South Carolina. Betty was only 11years old and Mary was only 8. The boy that killed them was George
Junius Stinney Jr., 14 years old. He picked up a railroad stake and beat both girls in the backof the head until they were
dead and then drug them out of sight and into the bushes.
Stinney was then executed just 90 days later.
